Welcome back design pals, to this months edition of Creative Post. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace, it’s feeling hard to keep up with where we’re going. So we're keeping you in the loop as we’ve got some exciting updates for you, including rumours about Apple's latest headset, Midjourney v5, and an exclusive look at the new Framer AI announcements.
Apple Reality Pro
WWDC is set to happen June 5th 2023 and their latest event graphic might hint at their newest device: Reality Pro (a AR / VR headset)
The latest rumours surrounding Apple's upcoming headset suggest a potential breakthrough in the AR and VR arena. This innovative device is expected to deliver a cutting-edge mixed reality experience that will set a new benchmark in the industry.
The headset is poised to feature a sleek, lightweight design, sophisticated eye-tracking technology, and ultra-high-resolution displays. This advanced offering is anticipated to rival established players such as the Oculus Quest and Microsoft's HoloLens.
I would love for this device to in someway replace the experience of sitting at a desk all day doing design work. Imagine the virtual office you’d be able to create? (and all the money you’ve wasted on new monitors 🫠) Exciting times!
Midjourney v5
I mean… we’ve reached the point in society where we cannot really identify what’s real or not. This update is wild. With new neural architectures and aesthetic techniques, the platform provides a diverse range of artistic possibilities. Key enhancements include a wider stylistic range, 2x higher resolution, improved clarity, expanded aspect ratio options, refined image prompting, and advanced natural language processing. Oh and they fixed hands!
What blows my mind is that in each of the examples above, is that even the papers on the desk in each variation are different… it’s getting weirdly good.
Currently available to paid users, the MidJourney V5 can be enabled through settings or by adding the parameter --v 5 to prompts. In the near future, the team plans to release an API for MidJourney, broadening its application potential. MidJourney Version 6 is anticipated within the next two months!
It’s a pretty hairy subject at the moment, finally the conversations are starting to happen about the ethics of AI and the copywriting of artists work.
